Jesse Cortez

I like making things that work. With one eye on visual design and the other on the underlying technology, I strive to create appealing and effective media presentations and online education.

I have worked in online and digital media production since 1999. I spent half of that time at a small 7-person media company that took on any technical, technological or logistical request our clients proposed, and we always delivered. Now I am working as part of a large team leading the way in online education. I have been faced with countless technological, logistical and personnel challenges, from learning new languages and applications in order to produce a product to aligning disparate unique personalities into a cohesive working atmosphere. I pride myself on my wide range of hard and soft skills, and my enthusiasm for learning new ones.

I have acted as the primary designer/builder of close to 100 classes for the Academy of Art University Online Education program. I have participated in the maturation of AAU’s online course offerings, and have gained a vast insight in to technologies and best practices for creating effective online education. I look forward to mingling my current skills and experience with those of others at a new organization.
